At the airport, follow the signs for North Terminal and Long Term Parking. Buses run every 5 minutes and the journey takes about 5 minutes. For the closest car park - Multistorey South Terminal car park is a two minute walk from the terminal. Leave the M23 at junction 9 and follow the signs for the airport. There are numerous other budget car parks at gatwick within 15 minutes of the airport, most of whom offer transfers to the airport every 10-15 minutes.
