Located on the South bank of the River Thames, Tate Modern opened to some controversy and also acclaim in 2000. Tate Modern can be reached from Blackfriars BR station via the Blade of Light footbridge over the Thames.
The gallery houses the best of 20th and 21st century art and entrance to the permanent exhibition is free.
Nearest car parks to Tate Modern are at City & Central Parking at Union Street and Universal Parking at Lavington Street. Parking in the streets around the gallery (limited) are on a pay and display basis. Street parking is free at weekends and after 6.30pm
